The final space shuttle mission, STS-135, ended July 21, 2011 when Atlantis rolled to a stop at its home port, NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. With the earlier cancellation of the Constellation Programme in 2010 (See Ares I and V below)
this has left America currently without any means of manned spaceflight or ferrying passengers to and from the International Space Station.
At the moment the only way manned vehicle capable of doing this is the Russian Soyez
and even that is grounded at the moment due a major crash in August. So what does the future hold?
